GAINS, RAKYAT LOSES


Pemimpim PKR Anwar Ibrahim masih membisu seribu bahasa terhadap desakan Presiden MCA Datuk Seri Chuia Soi Lek supaya beliau mengumumkan rancangan Pakatan Rakyat terhadap Pelaja Cina di negara ini.

Beliau telah mengemukakan desakan itu sebanyak tiga kali dan " Keengganannya untuk memberikan jawapan adalah tidak adil dan mengelirukan rakyat.

"Rakyat adalah berhak untuk mengetahuinya supaya merewka dapat membuat perbandingan sebelum mereka pergi membuang undi", katanya.

The Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumerism issued guidelines where restaurants, hotels and airlines are forced to list all-inclusive prices, but for a decade AirAsia advertised a non-existent ’fare’ minus many other charges. Also, passengers have been ‘robbed’ of millions due to cancelled flights that are not compensated. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses.



The Ministry of Finance vetted, evaluated and decided on airport-taxes and airport-charges. AirAsia refused to pay for years, and openly breaks the gazetted laws. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but all the while the Malaysian rakyat loses.

The Ministry of Transport supervised and approved the KLIA Master Plan, but AirAsia could override and get their own LCCT built exactly where they wanted, with tax-payers money. Soon, they grumbled that this was not good enough. They wanted their own airport in Negeri Sembilan, regardless of the danger of traffic-control so near to Malaysia’s biggest air-hub. The Ministry of Federal Territories and Urban Well-being laid out the guidelines for development of KL Sentral as an air-rail hub, and residential units were priced at the top-echelon to the global market. Yet Air Asia can set up a low-cost bus system there against the protests of foreign property-owners, ERL and others who had invested millions. Malaysia Airlines Rural Air Services was taken away from the people of Sabah and Sarawak and the small private company called FAX caused untold suffering to the peoples with its selfish, restrictive policies. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad has won awards all over the globe for being the World’s Best in many different areas; but in Malaysia, it has been bullied, humiliated and robbed by Air Asia year after year. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses.

Malaysia Airlines has always been unfairly attacked and mocked by Tony Fernandes who conveniently ignores the fact that as a IATA-registered airline conforming to world aviation standards, the national-carrier cannot take all the ’short-cuts’ in operating procedures that AirAsia does. In a few weeks, some of Malaysia Airlines’ most profitable routes like Surabaya have been destroyed to give AirAsia a monopoly. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses.

FlyFirefly.com was financially very successful, and provided Malaysians with affordable and convenient service between West and East Malaysia. This was destroyed because it was threatening AirAsia’s lucrative low-cost monopoly. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses.

Sepang Aircraft Engineering Sdn. Bhd. spent millions to set up Malaysia’s first bumiputra aircraft Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Facility, apparently on ‘certain promise’ that Air Asia would use them. Instead AirAsia signed up with SINGAPORE and both SAE and MAS were left out completely. Huge amounts of ringgit now flow into Singapore. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses.

Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn. Bhd. received a ‘certain promise’ that it would be the main hub for AirAsia, but after the company invested millions, that promise was not kept. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses.

State governments like Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Sabah, Sarawak, etc have received all kinds of promises from AirAsia but nothing materialised. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses.

Malaysian patriots were fed propaganda that AirAsia is proud of our country, yet it has criticised and shamed our best GLCs and government ministries publicly on the Internet with its attacks. The main person whom Tony Fernandes has depended on is a Singaporean woman, and all expenditure on aircraft MRO is showered on Singapore. Now, the airline’s main Head Office is in Indonesia, and millions of ringgit will flow there as well. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses.

All these are just the tip of the iceberg – for over ten years Malaysians are too scared to speak out due to the “powerful connections” of this wheeler-dealer and Master Manipulator. Tony Fernandes has very clever ‘reasons’, but the Malaysian rakyat loses. When will this end?

    Tony said AA did not owe any money to Malaysia Airport. "Wrong invoice.." claimed Tony. What say you. ? can you elaborate.

  4. Why make noises now MR ZAM. You were in the establishment but you maintained an elegant silence then. Now that you are out of favour buat bising pula,just like your former comrade in arms,the Kadir fella.
    Tony managed to do the things that he did with the collusion of the establishment.No denying that.
    So if you want to bising , bising to the PM whose favorite motto is" YOU HELP ME i HELP YOU".
    Go figure.....
    If you don't have the guts and gumption to do so, then it's best to keep quiet.

  6. in modern business,the most significant is bottomline ie profit.as long as they make profit,everything else becomes secondary.AirAsia is a profit-making machine.it optimises all its resources to that end regardless of the welfare of the workers than others.the move by government to decouple MAS from AirAsia was a good move though belated.hopefully MAS can now head for better future without AirAsia which has so many business agenda serving company interest and not national interest..Dato' MM

  8. I always stick with MAS for their excellent service, meal, comfort and friendly staff. AA has the opposite of all of the above.

    I couldnt even stand their online form. A lot of hidden charges.
    What makes him so powerful that no one could stop what he did?

    digit - it is timely for TS Zam to make noises. 10 years ago during the establishment, TS also didnt see it's coming. Or have you?
